Intradiscal pressure (IDP)
Intradiscal pressure in cervical spines and intramusclar pressure can be accurately and reliably measured with a Samba system.In order to objectively diagnose back injuries, for example, it may be possible to correlate the relationship between mechanical pressure and damage, first in larger animal models.
Similarly, pressure measurements can then be used to elucidate the origin of pain as well as to supervise rehabilitation and surgery. Samba Sensors' miniaturized pressure transducer, capable of handling high pressures up to 17 bars, is useful for such applications. Insertion in the disc can be performed using a guiding needle and both static and dynamic conditions can be investigated.
