Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

The Samba system offers the opportunity to monitor any type of physiological pressure in real-time during MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scanning.

Since the Samba Preclin catheter is insensitive to any form of electro-magnetic fields it is fully compatible with the latest high-end imaging technologies, including +10T machines. The ultra-miniature pressure catheter makes it possible to monitor for example high resolution arterial blood pressure in small rodents while simultaneously capturing images. Gating (external triggering of the MRI scanner) also becomes more reliable and robust when it is based on the aortic or left ventricular pressure signal.

The cine MRI below shows a Samba Preclin catheter in the aortic arch of a mouse, with its sensor close to the aortic valve.
