Pulse wave analysis (PWA)
Thanks to its ultra-miniature size, high fidelity and high dynamic response, the Samba Preclin catheter can be used when performing high quality pressure pulse wave analysis (PWA) in mouse models, or other small animal models.
Analysis of the pressure pulse wave is a method for studying vascular stiffness and provides valuable information for the characterization of cardiovascular disease, atherosclerosis and endothelial function.
In order to perform PWA and calculate for example the Augmentation Index (AIx) in a mouse model the sensor must be placed in the aortic arch and data recorded in high resolution.
